I unplugged my speed sensor out of my differential to clean it, because hey, I’ll trying anything before I start throwing parts at it to fix the stupid ABS light. My dumbass gets distracted and come back and start fucking with fuses and relays. Button everything up and rotate the rear tires side to side (because staggered tires) and back the car off the lift. It’s only until I’m about to get on the highway I notice my speedo isn’t working.

Derp, forgot to plug the speed sensor back in.

So I had to pull over and crawl under the car and plug the stupid sensor in by feel. I wanted to smack myself.

Well..... It’s better than just finger tight wheel lugs.

We’ve all been there.

At least it’s something super minor and in the grand scheme of things, it never would have made much of a difference for you.

I was trying to get my girlfriend’s old car to stop throwing an O2 code that was caused by an exhaust leak. So I crawled under, unbolted the downpipe & disconnected the O2 sensor. Then I welded up the crack in the pipe and re-installed it with new bolts & gaskets. When I took it for a test drive it immediately threw a code for bad O2 sensor reading.

I drove it home bitching to myself about all that wasted time & effort and that it’s now acting like the O2 sensor isn’t... even... hooked.. up...

Crawled back under and hooked up the O2 sensor I’d disconnected and it hasn’t thrown the code again.

That’s not too bad in the dumbass department, all things considered.

Yeah, I’m just overly critical of myself. Especially because I unplugged the damn thing three times.

Just stop it. If you’d have forgotten to tighten the lug nuts, and the tire had come off, then we’d judge you.

I didn’t see you at the regular dumbass meetings. You must be just a visitor. Sorry but space doesn’t allow me to detail my qualifications but the book is on Amazon.

At least you remembered to properly torque the lugnuts when you rotated the tires.

Uhhh... you did remember to torque the lugnuts properly, right?
